Due to its ideal climate and furtile soil, Croatia produces a lot of wine. As a fun tidbit for the wine nerds, it is also the origin of the Zinfandel grape, which is popular in California grape. The original grape in Croatia is called Crljenak Kaštelanski.
Becase of these ideal conditions, there are a lot of domestic wine producers in Croatia. One producer that stands out however is Mas Vin, known for it’s award winning organic wines. They incidentally also do produce a great Crljenak.
